MetroBus Coimbra puts one station’s departures on a single board, towards the centre and towards Serpins, with the Blue, Red and Green lines together, and says where each bus ends. Choose your station or let your location find the nearest. Timetables come from Metro Mondego’s official open data and, once downloaded, work with no signal.

Timetable
Every published minute for your station and direction, on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with all the lines in one grid. The next departure is marked; past ones are greyed out.

The three lines drawn on a map that ships inside the app, so it works with no signal, with each bus shown where the timetable says it should be. Tap a station to open its board.
Plan a trip
Choose where you are going and get the direct departures, with arrival time and stops where the published trip data provides them, and the fare the trip needs.

Search, the stations near you, favourites, and all 37 with their line badges. A fresh install asks you to choose; it never guesses a station for you.

Everything else in the app exists to answer that question better.
Every line, one board
The Blue, Red and Green lines share most of their route, so the board puts them together and groups by direction, towards the centre and towards Serpins, so you can see whichever bus comes first. Every departure carries its line’s colour and says where it ends: Coimbra B, República, Serpins, Lousã - Estação, Corvo or Vale das Flores.

Every published departure for your station and direction, on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with all the lines in the same grid. Tap an upcoming departure for its details; past ones are greyed out.
Reminders that count the walk
For the bus coming within the hour, set a reminder five minutes before it leaves, or one timed to your estimated walk plus two minutes’ spare, so it fires when you need to start walking.
Two maps of one network
A diagram of the lines for finding your place on the route, with the zone changes marked, and a geographic map for finding it in the city. The map ships inside the app, so both work offline, and tapping a station opens the same station page.
Fares as the board prints them
Municipal, Intermunicipal and Regional: a pre-purchased ticket costs €1, €2 or €3 and is valid for 90, 120 or 150 minutes; monthly passes are €30, €35 or €40, with day passes too. The planner names the fare your trip needs, and every station shows its municipality.
On the home screen
Widgets put the next scheduled departure on your Android or iOS home screen. On supported iPhones a Live Activity can show it on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, and Siri can answer the next departure from the saved timetable.
Works with no signal
Download the timetable once and the countdown works in a tunnel or with data off. The app checks for a newer timetable when you open it and only downloads one when the operator has published it.
Only what the operator has said
A station page lists its lines, its municipality, and a ticket machine or office only where Metro Mondego has announced one. Line status comes from the operator’s own notices, and when a check fails the app says so instead of showing an all-clear.
Estimated, not live
Estimated from the timetable, not tracked live.
There is no live feed of the Metrobus buses in this app, and it does not pretend to have one. Countdowns come from the published timetable and your phone’s clock. When the app shows where a bus should be, that is an estimate, and it says so.
What the app does
- Reads Metro Mondego’s official timetable, published as NeTEx open data.
- Counts down to the next departure, with no network.
- Estimates which two stops a bus should be between, and labels it as estimated.
- Shows the operator’s own published notices when there are any.
What the app does not do
- It does not follow the bus by GPS. There is no real-time vehicle position.
- It does not know about delays or cancellations the operator has not published.
- It does not sell tickets or passes. Fares are reference only, with links to the operator.
- It does not send your location anywhere. It stays on the phone.
The network
Three lines, thirty-seven stations.
Since 11 September 2026 the network runs as three colour-coded lines. The app knows all three, and treats them as one wherever they stop at the same place. Blue, Red and Green, as on the station signage.

The Blue and Red lines share 28 stations between Serpins and the city, so across most of the network both of them stop. Portagem is no longer a terminus: for the centre you carry on to Coimbra B or República, or change to the Green line.

MetroBus Coimbra is not an official Metro Mondego app and has no affiliation with the operator. It was built by someone who rides the Metrobus and wanted a simpler way to catch it.
Timetables and stops come from the NeTEx dataset Metro Mondego publishes on the Portuguese government open-data portal, dados.gov.pt. This app is not an official source of public information: for official timetables, fares and notices, see Metro Mondego and SMTUC.
Privacy, in three lines
There is no account and no sign-up. Location is used on-device only, to find your nearest station and estimate your walk to it.
Your chosen station and favourites are saved on your phone. Departure reminders use the system’s notifications.
The app’s network calls download the public timetable and the operator’s service notices from the project’s server. The map is bundled. No advertising SDKs, no tracking libraries, no analytics.
